As any other crop, Tobacco is confronted with bioagressors. The main ones affecting the production in AERET countries are:
- Pests: aphids, thrips, budworms, cutworms and wireworms
- Diseases: grey mold (Botrytis cinerea) in seedbed, blue mold, CMV, TMV and PVY
Growers are also confronted with other problems such as weeds, tobacco-suckers control and sometimes broomrape.
