France

French Tobacco growers are mainly cultivating two types of tobacco: flue-cured and Burley.

Dark air-cured tobaccos used to be produced on a large area in France. Nowadays, only a small production of this type remains. There is also a small production of fire-cured (known as “tabac boucané).

The main bioagressors affecting the French tobacco crop are:

  • Pests : aphids and wireworms
  • Diseases : blue mold
