Working groups

Taking into account regulatory, environmental and economical issues, AERET is a useful tool to exchange information and to spread quickly new practices for tobacco leaf production, from one country to another.

In order to optimize our action, AERET debates are divided in working groups.

The number and the themes of the working groups can evolve, depending on the topicality in tobacco leaf production.

Each group is coordinated by one or two people. All results obtained during the year are discussed, during the annual meeting of AERET.

Varieties are the first step to produce a tobacco complying both with growers’ expectation (resistances to bioagressors , yield , maturity , quality …) and with market criteria.

Blue mold

Blue mold is , historically, the major disease on tobacco crop.Tobacco blue mold , Peronospora tabacina , is causing serious damages to tobacco leaves.

Crop Protection Agents,Integrated Pest Management & Organic Production

Crop Protection Agents (CPA) are fundamentally an issue that must be broached on an European level. Because the subject of CPA is tightly linked with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Organic Production, these topics are combined in one working group since 2015.

Experimentation programs

AERET work on experimentation is articulated around an annual database of the trials led on tobacco by the people taking part in our association, giving of short description of the protocol implemented.
